Booking a cover band at a venue with its own equipment: how does that work?
Many venues already have their own sound and lighting equipment installed. Does that automatically mean a band can simply connect to it? Not always—but it doesn't have to be a problem either. Here is what you need to look out for.
Summary
Does your venue already have sound and lighting equipment? Then Uptown Coverband can be booked on a plug-in basis, provided the setup is suitable for a live band. We prefer to coordinate this directly with the venue or technician so that you don't have to worry about it. This applies to both a wedding as a company party at a special location.
In-depth guide
Not every home technical system is suitable for a live band.
Fixed technical installations in a venue are often set up for background music, a DJ, or a speaker – not necessarily for a live band with multiple instruments and vocals. That is why a band typically brings its own equipment as standard: it is precisely tailored to the sets and the lineup.
Booking on a plug-in basis: when is it possible?
Is the existing technical equipment suitable? Then Uptown Coverband can also be booked on a plug-in basis. We will then connect to the existing sound and lighting equipment, in consultation with the venue or technician. This prevents duplicate equipment from being set up.
Direct contact with the location or technician
To ensure this runs smoothly, we prefer to coordinate the technology and facilities directly with the venue, master of ceremonies, or event planner – that way, you don't have to act as the intermediary between us and the on-site technical team.
Flexibility through in-ear monitoring
Because Uptown Coverband plays with in-ear monitoring as standard, we are flexible regarding space and volume – even at locations with noise regulations or where the space is smaller than usual.
Take setup time and space into account
Regardless of whether you choose your own equipment or the venue's: please factor setup time, sound checks, and sufficient space—in other words, unobstructed access to the performance area—in your planning. Does this not fit well into the venue's schedule? Feel free to ask about the possibility of setting up earlier. We are happy to take this into account during further coordination.
In short
Does your venue already have technical facilities? If so, we would be happy to discuss whether Uptown Coverband can play on a plug-in basis, or if we should bring our own equipment. In both cases, we will coordinate this directly with the venue so that you don't have to worry about anything. Contact us to discuss the possibilities for your location.
