Music during the ceremony, drinks reception, or dinner: what is possible?

Not every moment of your wedding calls for a full band. For the ceremony, the reception, or the dinner, a smaller, more subdued lineup is often more suitable than an evening-long party program. What are the possibilities in this regard?

Music during a wedding ceremony at a castle

Summary

For the ceremony, we put together a small, understated lineup tailored to your needs — often even more compact than our smallest formation, Uptown XS. There is a little more room for drinks or dinner, and afterwards, the same formation can expand to the party.

In-depth guide

Smaller than you might think

Our compact formation, Uptown XS, already consists of 4 or 5 musicians – nice for drinks or dinner, but for the ceremony itself that is often still too much. For that, we prefer to opt for a smaller delegation, for example an acoustic guitarist with vocals.

For the ceremony: always custom-made

For the ceremony, we look at a custom lineup depending on the songs you want to hear, the setting, and the location. A church requires something different than a garden or the beach, and the number of songs and the desired atmosphere help determine which lineup fits best. Let us know your wishes via the request form, and we will be happy to help you plan.

Drinks or dinner: a little more space

For drinks or dinner, there is often a bit more room for a slightly larger lineup, such as Uptown XS – guitar and piano with 2 or 3 vocalists. Atmospheric and present, but never overpowering.

Flexible in space and volume

Because Uptown Coverband plays with in-ear monitoring as standard, we easily adapt to the room and volume – even in locations where this is a sensitive issue, such as a church, a garden with nearby neighbors, or an enclosed indoor space. No large speakers or monitor boxes that disturb the atmosphere.

And after that?

If Uptown Coverband plays during the ceremony, drinks reception, or dinner, a seamless flow into the rest of the day is also possible: the same, already booked lineup can scale up later in the evening to De Coverband or Uptown XL for the party. Read more about this in our article on structuring your wedding's musical program. This also has a practical advantage: because it involves the same band, you do not have to coordinate with multiple suppliers. The technical setup is only set up once, and the schedule is coordinated all at once – saving both costs and organization.

In short

For your wedding ceremony, reception, or dinner, we put together a custom lineup – tailored to the songs, the setting, and the location. Want to know what is possible for your day? Get in touch – we are happy to brainstorm with you.
